Hi third grade families!
AzMerit testing is now completed *sigh of relief* and we have a lot of work to do!
There are a few projects coming up in early May that we will be working on.
This week, we are working on our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, related Arts and Math) day projects which showcase the cause and effects of various natural disasters and hazards. These will be due on May 3rd and will be showcased during the day from 9:15 am - 10: 30 am. Come and see what your child has been working on! If your child also chose to compete in the district wide science fair project, those will be on display as well.
After STEAM day, we have our Wax Museum coming up on May 10th. This will be a longer event starting at 11:45 am and going until the end of the school day. I highly recommend you come and see your child embody and portray their famous historical character. Guidelines and a grading rubric will be sent home with your child so you can help with their research at home!
On Monday, May 23rd we will be having Camp Read A lot in the park next door to our school. From 9:15-10:30 am we will be sharing stories, reading books, and enjoying read alouds under the shades of trees and in the cool grass. Feel free to send your child to school with snacks, a blanket or something they can lay out and get comfortable in. You are more than welcome to join your child and read to a group of students, or to enjoy listening and relaxing in the park.
If you have any questions at all, feel absolutely free to contact me anytime!
Have a lovely day :)
Ms. Marsh
