We have been BUSY in 3rd grade and finished and presented our animal research projects AND completed our field trip to the Phoenix Zoo.
Now it is time to get serious!
AzMerit is coming and we are going to be working very hard to prepare ourselves. There is a practice test online at azmerit.org which we have gone over in class. But I encourage YOU to go online with your child so that you can be acquainted with the type of work they will need to do.
We are having a READING NIGHT which will talk about what you can do with your child at home to help them prepare and become better readers and thinkers. This will be on THURSDAY February 16th from 5:30-6:30. There will be free books, refreshments, and activities for the whole family.
Also, it is increasingly important that your child practices their writing and spelling. A great way to do this AND practice reading comprehension is after your child is done reading for the 30 minutes a night--have them write a summary about what they have read.
If you have any questions about how your child is doing or what you or they could do to prepare, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]
Together, we can do this!
Love,
Ms. Marsh
